So I'm that guy. I've been in the car business all of my life and I found myself in Mankato with a flashing Check Engine Light and a Traction Control light and no power. So based on proximity and reviews, I stopped at Adams Auto Sales and asked if their service guys could look at my car. Without hesitation, they hooked me up with their service manager. He acknowledged that they were full up but offered to help any way he could. They scanned my code, diagnosed the problem and suggested that they could try to fix it before the end of the day. My alternative was to rent a car to get home, use said rental car to do my job for the next few days, and hope that I wasn't getting scammed. Or wait it out. And I'm so glad I waited it out. They offered me a loaner car to do some business while I waited. They then called me way before I expected telling me that my car was done. No upsell. No pressure for the "out-of-town" guy. The bill was more than fair. They under promised and over delivered. Isn't that what you'd hope for in a shop?
